Discover the north end of Lake George from atop this relatively easy hiking mountain (there are a few tricky spots). Then seek out three small ponds about a mile from summit, by following the trails south and east.
A moderate three-mile trail (one way) puts you at a rock summit, where you can gaze at the High Peaks of the Adirondacks and the southern end of Lake George.
You can cheat and drive up the mountain, but you’ll appreciate the panoramic view from the top all the more if you hike up.
